Inauguration of Shahpur Kandi Dam in India has been planned in 2022. This dam can affect flow if water towards Pakistan. Especially Lahore can face severe problems of water crisis, drought & water scarcity. other regions surrounding River Ravi are also prone to water shortage due to extraordinary fall in the ground water levels. Govt of Punjab is intended to conserve more water by building barrages & lakes in Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP).
