I'm Doctor John Thompson and I am a practicing retina specialist. I'm previously president of The American Society of Retinal Specialists, and I'm also a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology. The problems that I've found with ophthalmology EHRs is that in most situations they really don't make our lives easier. They take more time to document information, that's even with use of a scribe. We're getting better. We're getting to the point we're saving time. I think our quality of our documentation is improving, the quality of our MIPS scoring is improving as we become more familiar with it. I love that it works equally well with Windows and Mac. And I like the fact that you have you can use the biometric password on the iPad or iPhone. You know my facial recognition on my iPhone allows me to get into the Pocket EMA and my iPad allows me to do this and I'm just absolutely sick of typing in my password. I like the fact that I can customize the examination and put in some personal information specific to that patient for that visit for that day. The thing that really encourages me is that Modernizing Medicine is improving their ophthalmology EHR rapidly. Much more rapidly than other ophthalmology EHR programs.
