Because what he did from his seats along the first base line at tonights Mets-Nationals game at Citi Field was nothing short of heroic. Watch him quite possibly save the lives of two adorable little kids by standing tall and deflecting a wayward bat that flew into the stands.

Baseball's supposed to be the perfect game to bring the kids to. The summertime is purpose-built for such things. But with protective netting not feasible for use all the way around the entire perimeter of the playing area, fans still need to keep their wits about them.
And this guy stepped up and produced a very different kind of defensive gem.
