In this video, Evergreen Wellness® Fitness Coach, Jaime Brenkus shows us how to warm up before your workout.
Jaime says that sometimes we need some added benefits like a warm up and warm down. Here he shows us how to warm up starting with marching in place, then bringing both hands all the way up to a vitality stretch three times. With arms still in the air, he brings them down to his side while bringing his knees up to warm up the hip flexors, quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes, and get them ready for the workout.
Next, he twists from side to side to work the lower back and loosen it. Then he does a side stretch reaching over his head, then does the same with the other side. Now he clasps his hands in front and rounds his back, knees bent, and slowly brings it down to the floor to stretch the lower portion of his back.
He leans in on the left knee and stretches, then walks it in to stretch the hamstring. He does the same with the other side. He ends with two big vitality stretches and he's ready for his workout.
