If anyone tells you they have some super secret cheese method to kill Issshin the Sword Saint easy, they are legit selling snake oil. There is no "easy" method but there's a very consistent way to defeat Isshin, and we cover everything in this guide.

Isshin, the Sword Saint is a difficult boss fight. In this video, we go in-depth to discuss all the tips, strategies, and tactics you need to beat this boss. We also discuss some of the key mechanics of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice that you will need to understand to successfully defeat the final boss of the Immortal Severance ending.

A few things you'll want before you go into the boss fight will be a stock of spirit emblems, the firecracker prosthetic tool, and the Ichimonji skill (from the Ashina Arts skill tree). Extra sugars (for damage or posture defense) are helpful as well, but not required.

The Sekiro final boss is probably going to be your greatest challenge in the entire game, which is fitting given he's the last one. It will likely take you multiple attempts before making good progress on the fight. If you're having trouble, don't feel bad---most people struggle on this boss. Stick to the tips in this guide and you'll eventually make it to the end of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
