WHY I AVOID LEASEHOLDS
If you've followed my property journey for a while, you know the score - I dodge leaseholds like they're flamin' hot coals.
My trusted solicitor, @stuartforsdike, broke it all down: ground rents, service charges, rules, regulations... Oh, and that ticking time bomb - the lease term.
Our chums in government prattle on about reforms, but for now? Leasehold is simply more hassle, more time, and more legal fees.
However… this does NOT mean that they are bad deals, there are gems out there and whole strategies based on it, I personally just don’t do them.
What are your thoughts? Have you had any success with leaseholds?
