A brand new way to play your Steam PCVR games wirelessly on a Quest 2, Quest 3 or Quest Pro headset has just become available and it's COMPLETELY FREE! This is Steam Link, an official Steam wireless connection application between your home PC and Quest headset, it's aiming to be a more efficient and impressive alternative to the built in Air Link that Meta provide and honestly after a little testing I think it's going to make Air Link a redundant option for almost all users. However I've seen a Steam Link vs Virtual Desktop debate brewing online, people assuming this new Steam Link Quest app will kill off the extremely popular Virtual Desktop due to the former being free and the latter costing a small entry fee. I'd argue that Virtual Desktop, with years of development and refinement, still offers the most robust set of tools for wireless PCVR gameplay and I can't see Steam Link replacing it (especially as Steam Link only works for STEAM games) BUT this new free method is still very impressive and will likely be more than enough for most VR users to gain access to a world of PCVR games on their Quest devices. Is it the BEST wireless PCVR application? That will all boil down to what you want to use it for...
