Arm lymphoedema (lymphedema - US spelling) is a common complication after breast cancer treatment, affecting 1 in 5 (20%) patients. It has a significant negative impact on a patient's quality of life.
Wearing a compression sleeve is the primary treatment for arm lymphoedema, but for some patients with long-term, non-pitting lymphoedema, the arm can be reduced in size with liposuction.
Arm lymphoedema liposuction offers patients a number of benefits; patients are able to put on their compression sleeves more easily, the frequency of cellulitis is reduced, elbow and shoulder range-of-motion is improved and the weight of the arm is reduced.
Mr Karri also performs liposuction for lower limb lymphoedema.
