If you file a VA claim and your rating decision comes back as a zero percent evaluation then everything isn't a total loss because if you have multiple zero percent evaluation disabilities you can actually be awarded a disability rating of 10% according to 38 CFR 3.324. This is because the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will not pay out benefits for a zero percent evaluation, but they will take into account any other disabilities you have when determining your overall disability rating. So, in a sense, having a Zero Percent Rating or Evaluation can help you get paid by the VA because it is one of the factors that is looked at when awarding veterans benefits.
