Energy Efficiency Opportunity in Pumps

Centrifugal pump are widely used in power plant. Energy saving reduces the Energy consuption bill of the user. So, energy efficiency in thermal utilities and energy efficiency in electrical utilities are very important in the present global scenerio. Pump efficiency formula and pump efficiency calculation, pump performance calculation with pump efficiency curve are discussed in the video with pump efficiency example. Bureau of energy efficiency is the autority is working on energy efficiency field through different initiative like energy audit in india.

There are some tips/methods to reduce energy consumption of the pumps are discussed in the video elaborately:
1. Controlling the flow rate by speed variation
2. Selecting the right pump
3. Pumps in parallel to meet varying demand
4. Eliminating flow control valve
5. Eliminating by-pass control
6. Impeller trimming
