White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany held a press briefing on Thursday.
The briefing comes after the U.S. Supreme Court issued a mixed verdict Thursday on demands for President Donald Trump‘s financial records that will keep his tax returns, banking and other documents out of the public eye for the time being.
By 7-2 votes, the justices upheld the Manhattan district attorney’s demand for Trump’s tax returns but kept a hold on Trump’s financial records that Congress has been seeking for more than a year.
McEnany responded to questions over the ruling calling it "a win for the president" and that Justice Kavanaugh had pointed out, in unanimous agreement with the other justices, that in the New York State case, it should be remanded to the district court where the president can raise constitutional and legal arguments.
