Bury kitchen scraps directly in your garden borders or vegetable garden to make compost right in your garden soil. This is the most straight forward and easiest way to make compost. No turning, no heaps, no mess, and an instant solution to kitchen waste.

Direct composting works well for all peelings, tea bags, and coffee grounds, banana peel, apple cores, and a some paper, eg kitchen towel or egg boxes. Eggshells, hole onions, and citrus take a little longer, but no more than in a hot composting system.
