The Image: Here for some reason I am reminded of the stained glass windows in Liverpool cathedral!
(I had forgotten I had seen (part of) this strange cacophony of images before at somewhere like the Tate Gallery in London about 10 years ago.
Intrigued then, intrigued now. Strangely beautiful anyway...
All painted directly onto the film stock and obviously influenced by Stan Brakhage and other direct on film artists. [Apparently there are 108,000 frames in this 75 minute film. How long would that have taken to paint/apply to the film stock?]
If nothing else the film is a testament to unwavering loyalty to an experimental idea.)
Anyway, José Antonio Sistiaga died yesterday (25 June, 2023) aged 91. This is my little homage and thank you
