This concert was positively reviewed by the press. The band and the audience were very enthusiastic and the atmosphere was at its best. No fan made it on stage. There was no change in the setlist.
As he entered stage, Morrissey greeted the crowd "Good evening!" After "Vicar In A Tutu", he thanked the cheering audience "...very very much" and then shouted "NO!" right before going into "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out". After "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" Mike teased the fans with the opening notes of "Reel Around The Fountain". But the next song on the setlist was "Ask" and it was announced by Morrissey with "This is our new single, 'Ask'!" For some reason, on this date, "Rusholme Ruffians" wasn't performed as a medley with the cover of Elvis' "(Marie's The Name) His Latest Flame".
A few songs down the setlist, Morrissey had to introduce another new and then unreleased composition: "This is a new song, 'Is It Really So Strange?'." After "Cemetry Gates", Morrissey said "Thank you you're extremely decent." During the second half of "I Know It's Over", Morrissey very gradually removed his shirt. At the end of the song he sent it flying into the audience. The "Hand The DJ" fanmade t-shirt Morrissey wore for the second encore was also sent into the audience at the end of "Bigmouth Strikes Again".
