Introduction:
Transformers are very efficient devices, for converting a high AC primary input voltage, in to a low secondary output voltage, or it can be used, to convert a low AC primary input voltage, in to a high secondary output voltage.
But what if we wanted to convert a DC voltage, from one level to another, then we cannot use transformers for this application.
The Voltage Doubler is a type of electronic circuit, that gives the output voltage which is equal to twice of the input voltage. This circuit is very useful, when a higher voltage is needed out of a single lower voltage power supply. For example, many times, we need 10 volt power input in our projects, but if we have 5 volt power supply, then in this condition, we can use this circuit in our project, to fulfill your requirements. This Voltage Doubler circuit, allows the input voltage between 3 volts to 12 volts, and it generates output voltage approx 6 volts to 20 volts.
In this project, we will see, how to make a voltage doubler circuit, using triple 5 timer IC.

Triple 5 Timer IC.
8 Pin IC Base.
33 kilo ohm resistor.
1 kilo ohm resistor.
10 kilo ohm resistor.
2, 10 micro fared, electrolytic capacitor.
100 nano fared, ceramic capacitor.
1 red LED.
2 diodes, 1N4007.
9 volt battery.
PP3 battery connector.
on off, rocker switch.
1 zero PCB.
4 screw with nuts.
and 4 plastic spacers.
