SIMPLE WAY OF COOKING SINIGANG NA PATA NG BABOY (exact ingredients below)
SINIGANG NA PATA NG BABOY is a tamarind based soup and a very popular Filipino dish. Sinigang can be cooked using pork meat or fish, however in this version i used pork knuckle. Meat is usually stewed in tamarind, garlic, tomatoes, and vegetables were simultaneously placed into the pot. Best served while steaming-hot with a freshly-steamed white rice.
Ingredients:
3 cloves garlic
1 medium-sized onion
2 pcs medium-sized tomato
1 kg of pork knuckles
3 tbsp fish sauce
1/2 tsp of ground pepper
4 - 6 cups of rice water
1 big-sized taro (gabi)
300g of tamarind
5 pcs of string beans
10 pcs ladyfinger
3 small-sized eggplant
1 bunch of kang-kong (water spinach)
3 pcs of green chili
