2020 Update: I still agree with all of my points/opinions. Only thing I’d like to add to is my comment about blatant racism. Blatant racism occurs every single day in the worst forms. Microaggressions are one form that occur in the workplace, but are minor compared to the adverse effects of systematic racism in the workplace. A lot of the points in the video cover the verbal aggressions. What isn’t covered in this video are the structures/power dynamics that are set in place within a workplace and the impact that it has on black employees.
Topics like these are seen as controversial and are typically avoided in discussion. It's important to bring awareness to the issues that black women face in predominately white workplaces.
