Made this song yesterday - I loved how the beat came out so I decided to spit to it - and wanted to share as I haven't released anything new for my fans in a while, and to let y'all vibe to something until my new album is ready ;-)

„Never show love“ exists on many levels - there’s lyrics that imply someone’s struggling over the fact of being black in a white society, but as well describes how the person supercedes these status quo through enlightenment, positivity and self esteem. It’s also a song against materialistic thinking and while the title may not let you think it is: it surely deals with love. Especially the self love you need when affection and reassurance from others is lacking.


ARTIST BIO:

Soulcat E-Phife is a female, dominican born, 30 year old afro-latin MC, lyricist and DJ living and working in Austria’s metropolitan capital city Vienna. She’s best known for her unique 90’s type Hip Hop music, conscious lyrics, outstanding voice, energetic live shows and a broad and diverse repertoire - be it at her Rap shows or DJ-sets throughout many parts of Europe and Africa (Festa 2H, Dakar, Senegal, with Akua Naru). Her first appearance in the US happened when german producer Figub Brazlevic called for a studio session in 2013 and gathered parts of Organized Threat L.A. (Chad "vonPoeVI" Marshall, Gavlyn) while they were on tour in Germany to record their boombap hit single „FOR THE MOMENT“ in an 8h session (recording, mixing, scratches, video production) as a crew including herself.

Locally she has recently teamed up with Austria’s most successful band the „SOFA SURFERS“ to record for their 2015 album „SCRAMBLES, ANTHEMS AND ODYSSEYS“ available on vinyl, CD, spotify and itunes.

What sets Soulcat E5 apart from many other (female) artists in global Hip Hop is her ability to produce and release independently, while maintaining the love for continuous work with her team of selected quality artists in the scene.
Her goal is to become more active and known throughout the Americas and Europe promoting & contributing to Hip Hop culture and supporting female activism as well as passing on music knowledge in workshops, shows, et cetera, to finally inspire and endorse many more female artists to create and put out quality music in Hip Hop themselves.
