This music video is dedicated to the more than 500,000 children who were 'raised' in institutional care in Australia during the 20th century and who suffered unthinkable abuse in these places best described as "hell-holes".
The song is inspired by the stories of the Forgotten Australians & Former British Child Migrants and the National Apology by the Australian Government to these people, on 16 November 2009, made by then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
It was also inspired by a poem written by Mick Davis; some of the words from the poem are part of the song, Mick being a co-songwriter with Jay Turner and Cath Mundy.
Being released in mid-November 2016 to mark the 7th Anniversary of the National Apology, the video intends to raise awareness of this sad and significant chapter of Australia's history and to ensure that children are better protected now and forever into the future.
"For the protection of children is the sacred duty of us all."
