Today, the suspension bridge is the most suitable type for very long span bridge and actually represents 20 or more of all the longest span bridges in the world. The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Brooklyn Bridge in New York, and Tower Bridge in London are famous examples of suspension bridges.
