This is the reading of the book written on friendship by Marcus Tullius Cicero, one of the most eminent statesmen and writers in history. The book takes the form of a dialogue, in which Scaevola and Fannius, a few days after Scipio's death, ask Laelius, who had been his closest friend, to tell them how he feels about his loss and expose his reflections and precepts on friendship.
The pronunciation used in reading the book is the so-called ecclesiastical or Roman, not the reconstructed one, but it can be easily understood by those who are used to the latter with brief exposure to it. Furthermore this reading is based on the latin text as it can be found at [ Ссылка ]
