OK, I knew I will have to "Introduce" Star Trek into "my library" at some point.
I love the series, I love most Space Series and movies. I love Space and Space Exploration in general.
I'm trying to say I'm biased, so take everything I have to say with a pinch of salt.
Starting with probably my favourite part of all Start Trek movies to date - the "introduction" / first contact with Borgs.
Funny enough, first thing we see is what could have been considered impossible - destruction of Borg Cube. Granted, they got away with it because "now" Jean Luc knows their "weak" points, but it still felt bit cheap.
I hoped for more, but can't say I was disappointed.
First time I saw this as a child really, I was absolutely terrified (of the Borgs); which If you know anything about me by now means - I was "living the life". It was a really good horror set into space. Probably my most favourite combination in movies. These days (as an adult) it only holds up as a good Start Trek movie and I'm happy to re-watch it about every 5years or so. I wish they made it more "dark".
I wish one day I will see a "remake" that would include Borgs, and would be a lot more horror pandered. I would pay a top dollar for that.
That being said, I got nothing but praise for this movie anyway, and this movie, is indeed my favourite of all Trek movies; and Patrick Stewart is my favourite Trek captain.
Live long and prosper my friends!
