Gareth Breese enjoyed a fairytale end to his Durham career as he hit the winning runs to claim a low-scoring Royal London One-Day Cup final against Warwickshire by three wickets.
The 38-year-old's 3-30 helped to skittle Warwickshire for 165, after Durham won an important toss on a murky day at Lord's, before the north-east county embarked on a nervy chase that set the scene for Breese to be the match-winner.
The popular Jamiaca-born all-rounder - playing his final Durham game after a decade at the club - edged away the winning runs through third-man and then raced into the crowd to embrace his family.
Durham's pursuit owed significantly to man-of-the-match Ben Stokes, who remained unbeaten on 38 and led a 36-run stand with Breese to steer them home with almost 10 overs to spare.
