The head of Libya's eastern-based parliament in Tobruk has rejected a new maritime agreement between Turkey and Libya.
Turkey made the deal with the internationally recognised Tripoli government. The agreement defines maritime boundaries between the two countries - which has angered Athens. The agreement allows Turkey and Libya to hold joint explorations in the region.
Ferhat Polat is a Libya researcher at the TRT World research centre. He explains how significant the deal is.
