Kiln opening from late November 22 , been unable to upload due to ill health the last 2 months. On a bit of a social media catch up!
Its only a short recording and also a last minute decision to glaze fire before attending my very first craft market. Hoping to have some tree decorations and something to decorate my stall with from this opening. I filled the kiln space with some re-fires and also a bit of a test on a chip platter.
On my platters I normally use Mayco Cobalt Wash in droplets over cordovan and birch chips to tie in with my Cosmic glaze combo I’m building up for our home dinner set. Problem is Mayco Cobalt wash is not dinner safe so I add drops of stoneware clear on every cobalt blob…….not an quick task! So wanted to see if I could get a similar result using some blue glaze chips. If this works it will be so much quicker and easier to make more Cosmic Chip platters. Also hoping I add enough silica sand underneath to prevent cracking. My last one had a significant crack !!
Sorry for only one overhead shot this time – nearly didn’t record as was so late in the evening, and so extremely cold. You can see I’m wrapped up in a winter coat for the opening.
Enjoy
