(7 Jun 2017) The UK's opposition Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has hit the campaign trail for the last
of Thursday's general election.
Speaking at a stop in Glasgow, Corbyn strongly disagreed with the British Prime Minister, Conservative leader Theresa May, who said she would change the human rights law in the United Kingdom in order to fight terrorism.
The way to deal with the threat to the democracy was not by reducing democracy, but by dealing with the threat, Corbyn said, reminding the voters that May had slashed police numbers while she was Home Office Minister.
May, who called the snap election in hopes of strengthening her mandate for discussions over Britain's exit from the European Union, has come under fire for the cuts to police numbers in recent years.
A string of opinion polls over the past couple of weeks have pointed to a narrowing in the gap between her Conservative Party and the main opposition Labour Party.
