When you are looking to grow your care agency business. Now its important to look at your rates according to who you supply staff to,
Let look at our you can determine your hourly rates.
1. Decide who you are going to be serving, will it be government organisations, like Hospitals NHS, private hospitals, service users in their own homes or residential care homes.
2. What staff type are you going to provide, what specialisms do they have? For example generic personal care, specialist complex care, mental health support?
3. The rates per hour you pay your staff will differ according to the experience of staff category.
4. Then see what the rate of pay is in your local area for the band experience level required. You will then have a rate of hourly pay.
5. Now you can look at what your costs are to run the service and manage staff, office and expenses.
6. So for example you are paying a staff member based on a pay rate of say 15.00 pay hour, then you would look at a margin of say upto 50% so for example you pay your staff 15 per hour, then your rate of 50% is 7.50 per hour on top of the pay rate. Your altogether costs would be 22.50 per hour.
So what is the lowest level you could charge would be say 30% because you want to be able to make a profit and not just to pay wages.
Sometimes it also depends on the number of hours provided, because volume can add up to be profitable too.
