John Sokol's uncle John Ryle was fighting in northern Germany in 1945 when the man next to him was shot. John returned fire with his M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle. He killed the German and this 9mm Luger was recovered from the body. It was imported to America via duffel bag with all of the proper documentation.
John inherited the gun shortly before his uncle passed. It is a real family heirloom because it’s exactly one hundred years old and John’s two young children love to shoot it. If his uncle hadn’t taken part in the war, the war still would have come out in our favor but this is a piece of history is something his children can touch and fire, so to John, this Luger is priceless.
