Following a shockwave treatment, there are some things you want to avoid.
You might notice after a treatment that you have a little raised area, like a little welt, and that's actually really good.
You want to keep that inflammatory response. You want to avoid anti-inflammatories while doing the shockwave treatment, so this will be about three to five weeks.
Anti-inflammatories include anything over the counter like your Tylenol or your aspirin.
This would be prescription anti-inflammatories. Now, if you have been prescribed an anti-inflammatory, you'll want to go to the doctor who has prescribed it for you and make sure it's okay for you not to take it during this time.
This also includes natural anti-inflammatories, like turmeric, cold laser, and arnica lotion. You really want to keep that inflammatory response going so that your body can heal the area.
