Patti LaBelle was born as Patricia Louise Holt, is a highly regarded American R&B singer, songwriter, and actress, affectionately known as the Godmother of Soul. Her musical journey began in the early 1960s when she served as the lead singer of the vocal group Patti LaBelle and the Bluebells, later rebranded as LaBelle during the 1970s. The group achieved tremendous success with their chart-topping hit, Lady Marmalade.
