With Christmas in mind, I've made a version of Bill Evans 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' for jazz piano solo, based on a transcription by William Hughes. The complete transcription has 8 pages and, well, it's long and has some very tricky parts - to say nothing of the left hand 10ths. I've taken what I think are the best jazzy bits, run them together to make a very reduced, playable for all sized hands, 2 pages approx.

Although William Hughes transcription could not be better, the feel of jazz as we know is something hard to put on paper. So, if you'd like to play this piece - perhaps this Christmas - and would like a bit of extra help with those jazz rhythms, touch and fingering, a related "Play Along" piano lesson [ Ссылка ] divides the piece into 10 short practice sections you can play along with at a slower tempo.
