In this video, I share with you my 10.1kg (22 lbs) gear setup for wild camping in the UK, during the transition months from winter into spring. This is the Base weight that I feel confident with, which will keep me comfortable whilst hiking and wild camping. This doesn't include consumables such as water, food and fuel.
Whilst I'm not too bothered to get down to the ultralight Base weight (10 lbs and under), it would be nice to trim and refine items from an efficiency perspective. I'm sure that this will be a gradual process as I improve my skills and change my needs over time.
This is the kit that I will be taking with me on my next wild camp on section 1 of the South Downs Way (Winchester to Exton).
