A white couple in the US state of West Virginia have been charged with keeping four Black children enslaved on their farm. The adoptive parents, Jeanne Kay Whitefeather, 62, and Donald Ray Lantz, 63, have been indicted on 16 charges that include child neglect, trafficking of a minor and use of children in child labour as they await trial in September. Court documents also showed two teenagers were locked up in a barn for hours at a time. When police arrived, the couple allegedly claimed that the barn was meant to be a ‘teenage clubhouse.’
