Moose milk is also known as “Elk Milk,” and Moose Cheese is cheese created from moose milk. Varieties of moose cheese are produced in Sweden by Christer and Ulla Johansson at their location called "Moose House" or "Elk House." Only three varieties of moose cheese are produced. Moose cheese is very exclusive compared to other cheeses. Why the Moose Cheese is so expensive? Usually, it takes between 30 minutes and two hours to milk a cow, and each produces up to 1 gallon of milk a day. But that's only between May and September, the time from when they calve and when they are in heat again.
Don't panic just yet since moose cheese isn't what you're thinking at all. That is, at least partially. In reality, moose milk is made and distributed throughout Scandinavia and Russia and is prized in some areas. And some people, particularly those in Canada, have the ability to use that milk to create moose cheese, a really unique type of cheese.
