Every photograph I have seen of Zelma Kaplan shows her smiling. She is a pianist and accordian player from States with a fabulous reputation in the folk dance scene. She wrote ‘Snow in April’ after such an event. Her tune brings a smile, maybe because of its soft romantic nature. Selma Kaplan has been one of the standard bearers of traditional dance music of Scotland, Cape Breton, New England, and Quebec, for over 30 years. I believe she still lives in New York.
