Hello again with my KENTUCKY HISTORY:
I´ve joined the Club in spring 1978. The band was Rolf Köhler vocals and drums, Heiko Effertz vocals and bass, Paul Stefanovic vocals and guitar, Peter Weihe lead guitar and myself. Pity that I do not have any live tape from this period.
Already a few month later Heiko quit and the band needed a bass player who sings, or a drummer who sings. We´ve scouted, searched and tried … no chance … so we´ve found a drummer with a singer. It were Peter Franken and Ian Cussick, who was already singer with Kentucky but had went back to Scotland lately. So we had some kind of reunion with the help of Peter Franken. I´ve showed you already examples of this constellation.
I was a member of this band only for a year and a half when nearly the whole club said good bye. Peter Weihe started his studio career, Rolf joined a better paid band, Peter Franken concentrated on studio jobs either (e.g. Baccara).
So it was on Paul and me to find new companions … Ian promised to be back when were ready.
We searched and tried the whole summer 1979 and found Detlef Wiedeke for guitar, Reinhold Koch for bass and Junior Werasinghe for drums. We met at Paul´s house and had a real concentrated rehearsal for a complete new program. We had a full schedule because of that I dared to change my gear into something modern and new.
I sold my Hammond M3 and bought Roland Jupiter 4 and a Fender Rhodes. My new place was draped with these two, a Wurlitzer E-Piano and still the Solina Strings.
To be continued
