Combining watercolors and colored pencils to create shadows and interesting textures in today's illustration of a smooth seahorse (hippocampus kuda).
I'm using the following materials:
watercolor paper (Arches CP)
watercolors in yellow, brown, light turquoise and blue (Alohawatercolors Ko'oko'olau, Lavarit, Ice queen and Pacific)
Colored pencils in yellow, brown, red, tan (Caran d'ache supracolor, Luminance and derwent Chromaflow)
A pencil for the sketch (Kurutoga mechanical pencil)
a small and medium round brush (KUM Germany round size 2,4, The Pigeonletters round 6)
Hair dryer to dry layers in between steps.
