YALL. It's been a year and a half since we've been to or given a concert, but we are back!
How do opera singers prepare a concert? And what does a concert rehearsal look like?
Opera singers rehearse A LOT, especially leading up to a concert. Join me and Das Neue Mannheimer Orchester as we prepare for concerts! With Baroque-era music by Antonio Vivaldi, G.F. Händel and Johann Hasse, performing arias, harpsichord and oboe sonatas, it's a wild ride!
With a grant from the FondsPodiumKunsten in Holland, we put on three concerts in two days in Amsterdam and the Hague. Besides these rehearsals, the musicians put in lots of practice individually to make sure they can give the best performance possible. I certainly did, because I was excited-nervous for the first rehearsal and wanted to put my best foot forward!
***Next video live on August 1st!***
