While intrusive, the EIP ensures that racial enclaves do not form. It's a massive change from the 1960s, when racial enclaves dotted Singapore, and racial riots broke out thrice. Singapore's success in solving segregation shows there's huge benefits of learning to live together. And the EIP has been a cornerstone.
