The first accumulating snow of the season overspread areas of Fort Wayne, Indiana today. A persistent lake effect snow band with heavy snowfall and large flake clumps began taking shape this afternoon and spread southward through this evening. Snowfall was wet and heavy, and quickly began accumulating on grassy areas, vehicles and other surfaces. As the snow continued, roads became slushy and slick as well. This is an unusually early season snowfall for this region. In this video there are various scenes showing the snow falling, accumulations, and snow with fall colors still on the trees, as well as road conditions, including I-69 SB.
