The principle of responsible government is one of the most important principles that guide the Australian Constitution (and the Australian society at large). It concerns the relationship between Parliament and the Executive. Since the Australian Government is formed from within the Parliament, following the Westminister tradition, there is a need for such a relationship to be regulated. That's where the principle of responsible government comes into play. In this video, we will look at what responsible government is, and how it is applied in Australia.
