First of all, I want to congratulate you! You said that you recently found out that you're having identical twin boys and that is awesome! Your chance of having identical twins is about 3 per thousand and your chance of having twins overall is 32 per thousand. Actually, having identical twins is just kind of a freak of nature. There's really nothing that increases your chances of having them, not even fertility drugs. It just happens sometimes where one egg is fertilized by one sperm and then shortly after fertilization, they split, forming two babies with identical sets of genes. So obviously, that's what's happened in your case and congratulations again! Chances are your doctor's going to watch you very closely over the course of your pregnancy because once we find out you have twins, you're at risk for many more complications that can happen during pregnancy and delivery so I'm sure they're going to monitor you closely and if you have specific questions about your situation, don't hesitate to talk with your doctor. But if you have any other questions for me in the future, I'd love to answer them for you. And feel free to ask them on your Facebook page at facebook.com/intermountainmoms.com and recommend us to your friends and family too.
