Protestors against government job reforms in Bangladesh clashed again with the police on Wednesday after violence left six dead and many injured the day before.
Police fired rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse protesters demonstrating against a quota, which reserves 30% of public sector jobs for family members of fighters from the 1971 War of Independence from Pakistan.
Local media reported that dozens were injured, including at least six journalists, as authorities deployed units of the paramilitary Border Guard force alongside the riot police.
Protesters outside Dhaka University chanted "We will not let our brothers' blood go in vain."
The public sector job quotas have especially angered younger Bangladeshis, with nearly 32 million of them neither in work nor education.
