Lewisham-born comedian Dane Baptiste burst onto the comedy scene at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he was nominated for Foster's Best Newcomer Award. Since then, he's opened for the likes of Hollywood's Eddie Griffin and funnyman Russell Kane. This week he brings his stand up to Soho Theatre.
Dane's material is inspired by his upbringing in south east London and his early days of feeling like he doesn't fit in. He was clever at school, but always acted the fool. His parents are Caribbean immigrants and he crafted his show around a modern take on a young black Britain.
Dane is known for his sharp rants and life's irritations that many Londoners can relate to bringing his audience close in his short and sweet performance. Dane will perform his show 'Citizen Dane' at 7pm every night this week until Saturday.
