Sponsored by “Civic Action,” a grant won by Dr. Catalina Florina Florescu
With performances by PopUp Theatrics
Ana Margineanu, Director
The one-day festival will involve performances by actors from PopUp Theatrics. They will perform skits/parts from plays analyzed this semester, plays that were listed on the syllabus. The experience is meant to see the benefits of performance, the transition from studied texts to acting. The event is also meant to let students see the connections between the experience accumulated in the classroom and the one that may be lived/experienced outside of it. Half of the event will take place in the classroom, the other half outside. The motto of PopUp Theatrics is “The world is our stage.” This will be the ideal way to end the semester where the main focus was to rethink immigration and to learn ways to become more empathetic and thus better engaged civically.
Plays:
Occidental Express by Matei Visniec
Privatopia by Maria Efstathiadi
Suicidal Dog & Laika by Catalina Florina Florescu
Holy Crab! by Zoe Zhuyi
Exile Is My Home by Domnica Radulescu
