Clinicians and researchers share insights on the range of symptoms and psychosocial impacts of childhood dementia. Beyond difficulties with cognition, learning, thinking, memory and communication, the progressive nature of childhood dementia is discussed as well as behavioural issues, difficulty sleeping and eating, and broader health issues. Psychosocial impacts are also covered, including uncertainty, impending bereavement, and the disintegration of parents’ relationships with their children. The causes of the economic, psychological and social impacts for the entire family are discussed.
