This short clip contains some mind blowing facts about Brihadeeswara Temple in Tanjavur, Tamil Nadu. The entire temple is made of granite stone. The temple was built using interlocking stone technique i.e. there was no biding material used.

The temple is 219 feet high making it one of the tallest temples in the world and the tallest granite stone temple. It was designed in such a way that it's shadow cannot be seen in any season.

One of the big mysteries of the temple architecture is how in early 11th Century, the architects have placed a 80 tonne weighing Kumbham (a capstone) on the top of the Vimana?
