Located in the Cheshire countryside, the site is also home to the University of Manchester's Jodrell Bank Observatory and its iconic Lovell Telescope built in 1957 - still the third largest steerable dish in the world - as well at the family-friendly Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre, which attracts some 160,000 visitors a year to learn more about radio-astronomy.
