G'day
Everyone knows what Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) can achieve and what it sounds like in real life. Further, there are enough videos and sound bites around that demonstrate what a BHI Noise Eliminating Module or similar audio filter can do.
This video puts all scenarios together and switches from:
1. No Noise Reduction.
2. IC-7300 Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) at level 5.
3. No Noise Reduction.
4. BHI Dual In-Line Noise Eliminating Module at level 5
.Level 5 was selected to reduce or eliminate the “watery” effect some noise filters can produce.
The video was recorded on an Android phone and each section is around 10 seconds long, with no breaks in the donor station's transmission. The video is less than one minute long in total.
Signal reception was via a 1/4 wave ground-mounted vertical antenna with 32 five-metre radials.
No other filtering or wizardry was used in the production of this video.
Cheers.
