In this video, we look at the most iconic portion of Basil II's long reign. After some poorly documented setbacks leading up to 1014, Basil wins his most famous (and brutal) victory at Kleidion. Following the death of Tsar Samuel, Basil II and his generals finish off the remains of the Second Bulgarian Empire and begin the long process of integrating this massive territory into the Byzantine Empire.
